Blackwater Creek Paddle

"...tight and hauntingly beautiful" as it snakes through an ancient, maybe prehistoric areas. The silence of the cypress swamp is sometimes hypnotizing, and the mood may only be broken by the passing of an animal resident. Lake Norris, the headwaters of Blackwater Creek, is the jewel of the trip. Guarding the lake from all approaches, the cypress woodlands extend into the water, creating an intriguing area to explore--that plays host to a metropolis for osprey and other bird life. We'll spend hours investigating the lakeshore, weaving our canoes through the maze of cypress, observing the bird life. This will be a very slow, relaxed pace paddle. Must have your own canoe/kayak.
