Kayak Rolling Class -
What a cool day of kayak skills class. We all got to play and roll around in the water with our boats. Some rolled for the first time, other's took their first try at rolling and experienced what's like to be underwater with a big piece of plastic attached to you. The class was well coached and all who attended enjoyed first class coaching by Ken and Mariam as other experienced kayakers assisted. We learned that to call a greenlander an eskimo, is to insult them by calling them raw meat eaters. We also learned that the greenlanders were horrible swimmers since it's useless to swim in waters so cold as you will die of hypothermia within minutes of swimming. To the relief for some of use working for some time in rolling, we also learned that the first european kayakers learned to roll after 500 years. Ken promised to cut that time in half for us. Thanks Ken, Mariam and all who participated and made this day a great skills class. As reported by Gil Hidalgo Hosted by: Mariam and Ken |
