Canaveral National Seashore Kayak/Camping Trip-
We had 11 people for overnight camping and 6 for the day. We launched from River Breeze Park in Oak Hill to paddle in Mosquito Lagoon. We paddled 2 miles to Goodrich restaurant ready for lunch but we found out it was closed and available for lease [Murphy's law for the hostess]. Everyone had extra food for the weekend and happily continued paddling to the Seminole Rest to have a lunch break. Gil offered his potatoes chips but everyone had plenty of food. The Seminole rest is an Indian settlement built on top of an ancient Indian Mound and they opened up at noon as planned. Afterwards, we paddled to the campsite ( # 10 ) and set the camp. Enjoyed the company and the great view, perfect weather, no mosquitos in the Mosquito Lagoon, relaxed and mingled around the campfire. The next morning, a number of us got up to watch the sunrise, we took our time to have a hearty breakfast and enjoyed the morning. Then back across the Mosquito Lagoon to Oak Hill ending our weekend of adventure.
