Arbuckle Creek Paddle and Camp. Running south from Lake Arbuckle to Lake Istokpoga, east of Avon Park and Sebring, Arbuckle offers quite a few terrain changes along its course, and in the past we've seen lots of wildlife. It's flat with very little current and few, if any, deadfalls -- until you get to the rapids. Yes, indeed, there is one little spot that can be a good bit of fun. The first day is a bit long, 18 or so miles, but there's a beautiful meadow to camp in that night, and the next day is only about 10 miles. Numbers will be limited, so sign up early.
